This report summarizes the participation of Assistant Professor Dr. Hana Hani Al-Saffar with Assistant Lecturer Noor Hussein Youssif in a scientific training titled “Methods of Preserving Biological Specimens in the Natural History Museum.” Held from December 26-28, 2023, the workshop was organized by the Continuing Education Unit of the College of Science for Girls and the Department of Life Sciences.
Participation and Purpose:
Dr. Al-Saffar, alongside Prof. Hanaa Abdel Hussein (Center Director and Vertebrates Department Teaching Assistant) and Assistant Lecturer Noor Hussein Youssif, contributed to the workshop as experts. The main objective was to equip participants with the correct scientific methods for collecting, preserving, and maintaining biological specimens housed in natural history museums.
Collaboration and Contribution:
The workshop saw effective collaboration between the organizers and instructors from the College of Science for Girls: M.D. Zainab Abd Aoun, M.D. Alia Hussein Ali, and A.M. Prof. Sumaya Fadel Muhammad. Their combined expertise ensured a comprehensive and valuable learning experience for all involved.
