In pursuit of scientific progress, a team from our center led by Dr. Hana Hani Al-Saffar and Ms. Sarah Jamal undertook a research trip to the Al-Mada’in region and Wasit Governorate. With the support of the centre’s management, they aimed to collect and document the region’s unique biodiversity, focusing on invertebrates, fish and natural plant life.
This field trip serves two critical goals: collecting biological samples to create a comprehensive research collection, including animal and plant specimens, and building a comprehensive database of Iraqi biodiversity. The successful expedition paves the way for further cooperation and contributes significantly to the advancement of scientific knowledge and the well-being of society.
