The trip was led by Assistant Professor Sarah Jamal Jalil from the Department of Botany and Environment.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The field trip aimed to conduct a field study in Wasit Governorate, specifically in the Al-Aziziyah District in the Zawiya Al-Zar&#8217;a area. The objectives of the trip included: identifying the biodiversity of wild plants and fungi in the study area; collecting field samples for diagnosis and laboratory analysis; training students in methods of collecting, preserving, and classifying biological samples; bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application in biology\/botany; and documenting the species found in the area using modern scientific methods. During the field survey of the region, the researcher recommended conducting frequent scientific expeditions to different areas to enhance environmental knowledge. He emphasized the importance of preserving the environment and avoiding damage to plants during sample collection, equipping laboratories with modern tools for accurate diagnosis of fungi and plants, encouraging students to conduct applied field research, and finally, establishing a local database to document biodiversity in Wasit Governorate.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">We wish
