The Women’s Affairs Committee at the Natural History Research Center and Museum, University of Baghdad, under the supervision of the Women’s Affairs Division, organized an awareness activity focused on promoting sustainable development and economic growth. The activity, which included awareness posters, addressed the concept of financial equality, clarifying that it does not mean identical obligations (given the differences in family responsibilities), but rather equality in personal rights, legal capacity, and complete financial independence.<\/p>\n

The activity aimed to achieve a fair distribution of resources by ensuring access to services (health, education, transportation) for the most vulnerable groups based on their societal roles.<\/p>\n

It also addressed economic empowerment through allocating funds to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) led by women, and finally, transparency and accountability by clarifying how state funds contribute to improving the overall quality of life for families.<\/p>\n

The most important recommendations of this activity included adopting laws and policies that obligate government institutions to incorporate gender-responsive budgeting as part of the national budget, directing budget resources towards supporting women’s entrepreneurship projects, vocational training, and access to technology and markets, and finally, activating the role of parliaments and oversight bodies to monitor the direct impact of the budget on gender equality. This activity achieves the fourth goal (quality education) and the tenth goal (gender equality) of the Sustainable Development Goals, and we wish everyone success in achieving sustainable development.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
