This collaborative venture involved a research team of dedicated teachers from the Natural History Research Center and Museum at the University of Baghdad, representing various scientific departments:<br \/>\nDepartment of Vertebrates<br \/>\nDepartment of Insects and Invertebrates<br \/>\nDepartment of Plants and Environment<br \/>\nDepartment of Ichthyology<\/p>\n<p>Our mission: Collect diverse biological samples to enrich research projects and expand Iraqi collections of animal and plant specimens. Additionally, we aimed to contribute to the development of a comprehensive database documenting Iraq&#8217;s vibrant biodiversity.<\/p>\n<p>Al-Zawraa Park, brimming with remarkable biodiversity, proved to be the perfect environment for this endeavor. The dedicated team successfully collected numerous valuable specimens, including:<\/p>\n<p>A range of invertebrate models<br \/>\nDiverse fish species<br \/>\nUnique natural plants<br \/>\nThis fruitful collaboration exemplifies the importance of interdepartmental cooperation in advancing scientific understanding. The collected samples will not only contribute to ongoing research but also serve as valuable additions to Iraqi collections, enhancing our knowledge of the nation&#8217;s rich biodiversity.<\/p>\n<p>We extend our gratitude to Dr. Hana Hani Al-Saffar for her leadership and to the entire research team for their dedication and expertise.
