Continuing a dedication to scientific advancement, and under the guidance of Center Director Assistant Professor Dr. Hana Hani Al-Saffar, the University of Baghdad actively participates in a range of scientific activities and training courses. Building on this commitment, Assistant lecturer Fatima Hussein Bureij recently took part in the Occupational and Laboratory Safety Course held at the Continuing Education Center from December 26th to 28th, 2023.

This intensive course honed participants’ skills in safeguarding against workplace hazards and fostering a culture of safety within laboratories and beyond. The curriculum focused on:

Preventing occupational injuries and accidents: Equipping participants with the knowledge and tools to minimize risks and protect themselves and others in diverse work environments.
Preserving valuable resources: Understanding how safety protocols can prevent damage to facilities, equipment, and other resources, resulting in cost savings and increased efficiency.
Nurturing worker confidence: By establishing clear safety procedures and procedures, the course fostered a sense of reassurance and well-being, allowing workers to perform their duties with greater peace of mind.
Fatima Hussein Bureij’s participation exemplifies the University of Baghdad’s dedication to continuous learning and its commitment to establishing a culture of safety throughout all its departments and activities.
