Faculty Members from the Natural History Research Center and Museum Participate in a Scientific Seminar on the Risks of Alien and Invasive Species to Biodiversity Sustainability

Prof. Dr. Razzaq Shaalan Agual, Prof. Dr. Hana Hani Al-Saffar, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Hind Diaa Hadi, from the Natural History Research Center and Museum, participated in a scientific seminar organized by the College of Education for Pure Sciences at the University of Tikrit—in collaboration with the Continuing Education Center and the Ministerial Subcommittee on Alien and Invasive Species. The seminar, titled “Alien and Invasive Species: A Threat to the Sustainability of Biodiversity,” was held on Thursday, October 29, 2026, at the Jabir ibn Hayyan Hall at the University of Tikrit.
The seminar aimed to highlight the environmental risks posed by the spread of alien and invasive species and to examine their impact on the sustainability of biodiversity. It also addressed the environmental challenges associated with their proliferation and explored scientific approaches to mitigate their negative effects and maintain the balance of ecosystems.
This participation is part of an effort to foster scientific cooperation and the exchange of expertise among faculty members and researchers, while contributing to research initiatives aimed at protecting biodiversity.
This activity supports Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education) and Sustainable Development Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
