The University of Baghdad, in collaboration with its various departments and with the support of Center Director, Assistant Professor Dr. Hana Hani Al-Saffar, organized a scientific field trip for lecturers and students from the Materials Engineering Department at the University of Technology. The trip took place today, Wednesday, February 19, 2025, and was led by Assistant Lecturer Noor Hussein Yousif and Head of Agricultural Engineers, Batoul Abdul-Ridha Al-Wazzan.
Ms. Al-Wazzan welcomed the group with a lecture providing an overview of the center, its exhibition hall, and the methods used for collecting and preserving museum specimens. Students learned about the various models and exhibits on display, their types, and their significance.
The visit aimed to strengthen scientific collaboration between the center and universities/departments with related specializations. It also sought to expand students’ knowledge of biological and geological diversity, including the classification of organisms and their presence within the Iraqi environment.
Assistant Lecturer Nour Hussein emphasized the importance of training students and specialists in the identification of living organisms using taxonomic keys found in Iraqi flora resources and understanding the geological makeup of Iraq. The organizers expressed their best wishes for continued success in serving science, education, and knowledge.
