On Wednesday, October 15, 2025, the Natural History Research and Museum Center at the University of Baghdad organized a scientific visit to the Kut Technical Institute. The visit was led by the Center’s Director, Assistant Professor Hanaa Hani Al-Saffar, along with Professor Dr. Razzaq Shaalan Augul and Lecturer Dr. Hind Dhia Hadi. The visit aimed to initiate cooperation, exchange expertise, and learn about the Institute’s agricultural projects.

During the visit, Professor Dr. Razzaq Shaalan Akal and Assistant Professor Hanaa Hani Al-Saffar presented lectures at a scientific workshop held by the Institute. The lectures cover various topics, including invasive species of wild plants and their environmental impact, alien animal species and their health and economic risks, the challenges and institutional mechanisms for controlling invasive species, and the responsibilities of relevant official bodies. The delegation also toured the institute’s facilities, including the mushroom production laboratory, the apiaries, the greenhouse, and the olive grove, where they learned about the efforts being made to develop agricultural projects and invest in scientific research, and improve the university environment.

Finally, the researchers recommended expanding scientific cooperation between academic institutions with overlapping specializations, broadening coordination in research and applied fields related to the agricultural and environmental sectors.
