On Tuesday, September 22, 2026, the Natural History Research Center and Museum at the University of Baghdad welcomed a ministerial committee assigned by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to evaluate the performance of research and service centers.

The committee included Assistant Professor Dr. Marwan Abdul-Razzaq Matar and Dr. Firas Maan Abdul-Sattar. They were greeted by the Center’s Director, Professor Dr. Hanaa Hani Al-Saffar, along with the Quality Assurance Officer, Assistant Professor Dr. Hind Diaa Hadi, and several faculty members.

During their visit, the committee toured the laboratories and exhibition hall to assess the existing capabilities, as well as the scientific and administrative activities at the center, checking their alignment with the established research objectives. The visit also included a review of faculty and administrative staffing matters, alongside an examination of the regulations and mechanisms in place to ensure performance efficiency and organization of research work.

This visit is part of the Ministry’s comprehensive efforts to evaluate center performance and identify areas for development, thereby contributing to the enhancement of the research environment and scientific output within Iraqi universities.

It is noteworthy that this initiative aligns with the objectives of Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education) and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
