In celebration of Iraqi Science Day on December 30, 2024, the Advanced Research Department of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research recognized the outstanding contributions of Iraqi scientists and researchers. The event, held at the University of Baghdad, honored academic achievements across various scientific disciplines.
His Excellency Minister of Higher Education, Professor Naeem Al-Aboudi, addressed the gathering, emphasizing the significance of this day and the nation’s scientific progress in recent years.
A highlight of the ceremony was the award for “Best Scientific Journal” for 2022 to the Iraqi Natural History Museum Journal. This peer-reviewed publication, included in Scopus since 2017, has a 0.9 citation score. The award, received by Assistant Professor Dr. Hana Hani Al-Saffar and Professor Dr. Razzaq Shaalan augul, aims to encourage high-quality scientific publishing within Iraq.
Minister Al-Aboudi encouraged continued efforts in scientific research, global publishing, and postgraduate studies at Iraqi universities. The event concluded with wishes of success to all involved in the journal’s operations.
