Our center, with the support of its administration, recently held a workshop on “Skin Fungi in Children” on January 28, 2025. Organized by the workshops and seminars committee and managed by Assistant lecturer Ali Kamel Wanas, the session was presented by Assistant lecturer Sarah Jamal Jalil. The workshop covered the causes of skin fungi in children, noting that it often stems from a weakened immune system and is usually not contagious. It explained how fungi thrive in warm, moist areas like the diaper area, groin, and between toes. The lecture aimed to educate attendees on the types of fungal skin diseases affecting children, their diagnosis, symptoms, treatment (including herbal and natural remedies), and prevention. Key recommendations included keeping the body dry, wearing loose cotton clothing, avoiding scented or chemical products on affected areas, and limiting processed food intake. We extend our best wishes to our center’s teachers in their continued service to the community, science, and knowledge.
