As part of a series of scientific activities, and with the support and guidance of the Natural History Research Center and Museum at the University of Baghdad, members of the editorial board of the Iraqi Natural History Museum Journal attended the first conference for the editorial boards of Iraqi scientific journals. This included the journal’s editor-in-chief, Professor Dr. Razzaq Shaalan Augul; the editorial board director, Lecturer Dr. Hind Diaa Hadi; and editorial board member Professor Dr. Huda Jassim Muhammad Al-Tamimi \ University of Babil . The conference took place at the University Theater Hall on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, hosted by the University of Technology. Distinguished guests included the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem al-Aboudi; the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research for Scientific Research Affairs, Professor Dr. Haider Abdul-Dahd; and the President of the University of Technology, Professor Dr. Mohsen Nouri Hamza. The event also welcomed several university presidents, deans of university colleges, editors-in-chief of scientific journals, and their editorial boards.
This conference, the first of its kind for editorial boards, represents a testament to a renewed commitment and a strong national will to provide our academic journals with the necessary support to solidify their place at the center of scientific research. These journals will become platforms for cultural exchange and spaces for integrated dialogue.
In this regard, the Ministry of Higher Education has successfully established, over three years of intensive work, a distinct phase based on quality standards and specialized scientific research. This initiative has positioned our universities as partners in the global education system.
