On Tuesday, October 28, 2025, the Natural History Research Center and Museum at the University of Baghdad hosted a university committee to discuss research hourly rates for the 2022-2023 academic year. They were received by the center’s director, Assistant Professor Dr. Hanaa Hani Al-Saffar, Assistant Lecturer Khalida Ibrahim Hassoun (a member of the center’s scientific committee), and Assistant Lecturer Noor Hussein Yousif (a member of the university auditing committee). During the meeting, the center’s achievements in publishing high-quality scientific research for the 2023 academic year were reviewed, along with the key scientific criteria required for publication in international journals. The mechanism for calculating research hours for faculty members was also explained, and all relevant regulations governing the operation of research centers were reviewed.

The most important recommendation to emerge from the meeting was the promotion of scientific research and the provision of a comprehensive and supportive scientific environment for researchers in Iraqi universities.
