The Women’s Affairs Committee at the Natural History Research Center and Museum, University of Baghdad, under the supervision of the Women’s Affairs Division, organized an awareness and educational activity focusing on integrating the social, environmental, and economic dimensions. The activity, which used awareness posters and banners, addressed empowering women to contribute to resource sustainability and environmental conservation. It emphasized the importance of economic and social awareness as a fundamental pillar for societal advancement and well-being. The posters were displayed in the scientific departments and laboratories and distributed to faculty, staff, and students at the college complex in Bab Al-Muadham.

The activity aimed to promote a balance between the various aspects of women’s lives, while reinforcing the principles of responsible economics and community participation, and ultimately, to spread a culture of environmental conservation to ensure a sustainable future.

One of the most important recommendations issued by the Women’s Affairs Committee was to activate women’s role in spreading environmental awareness within the family and community. This would instill practices of water and energy conservation and waste management, while also promoting women’s participation in afforestation programs, biodiversity protection, and tree planting as a tool for environmental sustainability for future generations. This activity achieves the Sustainable Development Goals in all its aspects, and we wish everyone success in achieving sustainable development.
