The Natural History Research Center and Museum, University of Baghdad, organised a scientific trip to Wasit Governorate, Aziziyah District, on Saturday, September 27, 2025. The trip was undertaken by a renowned research team consisting of the center’s director, Assistant Professor Dr. Hani Hani Al-Saffar, and the center’s development team, in partnership with the College of Science, University of Baghdad, and the University of Karbala.
The goal of the current scientific trip was to complete and build upon the research to support the Brazilian collection, both by developing samples and establishing a database for biodiversity in Iraq.
The survey was crowned with fruitful participation.
The field survey was actually approved during the scientific trip, along with the necessary measures to eliminate diseases and parasites that affect plants and cause mortality, resulting in a significant loss of wealth. This directly impacts the environment, diversity, and geology.
